The Network Surveillance Engineer for the CORE Wireless NOC will be responsible for supporting the DISH Wireless 24/7 Network Operations Center. This role involves monitoring the CORE Network and providing initial troubleshooting for 5G Core incident tickets. The Network Surveillance (NS) Engineer must act promptly to resolve issues efficiently and restore service for customers, escalating to Tier II support when needed. A successful NS Engineer will manage the end-to-end monitoring and troubleshooting of the 5G CORE platform. The NS team will rapidly assess service and system issues, determine corrective actions, and implement solutions to restore services. This position will require escalating complex problems to the Fault Isolation & Management team, determining root causes of failures, and developing corrective actions.
- Take ownership of end-to-end monitoring for CORE EMSs and observability tools.
- Handle incident identification, ticket logging, and impact assessment using the ServiceNow ticketing tool.
- Manage Market chat groups, providing initial troubleshooting and necessary support.
- Conduct site monitoring and health checks following maintenance activities (CRs).
- Oversee the incident management process and coordinate team efforts to resolve incidents, drive ticket management, and ensure timely follow-up until closure.
- Prioritize or deprioritize incidents based on their urgency and business impact.
- Collaborate and escalate critical issues to the FIM, Advanced Ops, Engineering, and Vendor teams when timely support and resolution are needed.
- Manage outages and emergencies, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon KPIs and SLAs.
- Work closely with various teams within Dish, including RF, Deployment & Integration, Tech Dev, Core, Cloud Infrastructure, Network Engineering, and Market teams.
- Help resolve customer complaints (CXO) within service level agreements (SLAs) and maintain effective operational performance.
- Ensure Trouble Tickets are updated with all technical details, troubleshooting MOPs, and templates.
- Maintain an optimal Open Incident backlog.
- Ensure National Level Availability is above 99.50%.
- Manage internal, external, and customer incident escalations and follow-ups, ensuring process adherence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in telecom or wireless environments.
- Experience managing 4G/5G network elements, including AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, ePDG, A-SBC, I-SBC, IMS HSS, CSCF, EMS/NMS, and handling NOC shift environments and troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to organize and prioritize dynamic schedules, balance team workloads, and ensure incidents are resolved quickly and efficiently.
