Immerse yourself in the world of 5G networking by engaging in hands-on exercises within a laboratory setting, where participants gain access to a 5G AWS Instance. This experience is empowered by a foundation of open-source 5G core network and RAN simulation software, providing a secure training environment for direct interaction with 5G technology. Engage in initiating network instances, navigating 5G network functions, and creating & examining network traces for analysis in Wireshark.
Your journey will encompass:
- Topology: Delve into the 5G SA (Stand-Alone) architecture, exploring its interfaces, nodes, and configurations in an intuitive and interactive manner.
- Traces: Conduct in-depth analyses of pcap (Packet Capture) traces and explore the behavior of different protocols within a simulated environment.
Objectives Of The Lab
- Grasp fundamental concepts of the 5G core standalone architecture.
- Gain comprehension of 5G core protocols such as GTP, NGAP and NAS.
- Practice with Wireshark traces different messages
- Setup the 5G device and 5G gNB
- Set up the LAB’s 5G core system, including node configuration and subscriber provisioning.
- Perform various scenarios using the 5G core, including registration, service request, paging, and deregistration.
- Conduct debugging activities and capture network traces for analysis.
