Dell brings Aira’s RANGPT tool to AI for Telecom suite to enable intent-based RAN scripts

Dell has announced several new additions to its AI for Telecom product range, including Aira Technologies’ generative AI tool for RAN software engineering. RANGPT will be available to Dell AI for Telecoms customers, allowing engineers to generate simple RAN applications and scripts using human language with natural intent. RANGPT will also allow Dell telecoms customers to test and deploy AI-generated code on their production network.

The RANGPT integration is among a baker’s dozen of new features rolling out in AI for Telecom following Dell’s announcement. Other network ops integrations include a network traffic analysis and optimisation tool from US-based vendor Opanga, designed to quickly deploy RAN software into mobile core use cases, including both edge core and centralised RAN servers. Dell is also introducing Enterprise Web’s Netwrx.ai platform, an AI-driven network automation suite for 5G RAN that also uses intent-based natural language to compose network elements, supported by full stack provisioning, orchestration and management.

The remaining new features are all designed to help telecom operators capture enterprise value at the network edge. They are as follows: Epic.io’s AIoT-powered site security for commercial venues; Chooch’s vision AI toolkit for smart manufacturing use cases; Ecrio’s mission critical human to machine IoT communications suite enabling voice controls; WaitTime’s AI-powered crowd analytics function; A.I Tech’s AI suite for smart mass transit use cases; TensorGo’s video analytics for crowd control in smart cities; Aotu’s AI worker safety and hazard detection suite; Gorilla’s intelligent video analytics for retail, transportation and ports; Axxonsoft’s video analytics solution for safety in workplaces and transport use cases; and C5i’s inventory visibility and management toolkit.

Dell’s AI for Telecom solutions suite launched in August with six integrations tailored to data centres and edge networking use cases. The platform is supported by Dell’s PowerEdge XR8000 server with AI-optimised Intel Xeon processors and multiple connectivity modes, including private 5G, Wi-Fi and wired networking.
